Since 2010          Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems (IKTS)

Since 2013          Deputy Institute Director of IKTS, Head of IKTS Hermsorf

 

Research topics:

Development and application of inorganic membranes (oxides, non-oxides, carbon, zeolites, palladium, mixed-matrix-membranes).

Teaching:

2 courses, „Ceramic Processing“ and „Membranes and Membrane technology“.

Publications:

57 peer reviewed papers, 4 book chapters, 246 oral presentations (111 own, 135 Co-Autor) at national and international conferences, 113 posters at national and international conferences, 19 patents and patent applications (patent families, inventor), h-index 22.

  • Thuringian Award of Innovation for the development of ceramic nanofiltration membranes  2000
  • IQ Innovation Award Mitteldeutschland for ceramic membranes with nanopores for the efficient bioethanol production 2008
  • Innovation Award of the Fördergesellschaft Erneuerbare Energien e.V. (FEE) for the development of nanoporous ceramic membranes for the dewatering of bioethanol 2010
  • Thuringian Research Award for the development of ceramic membranes for oxygen separation 2011
  • Corporate Environmental Achievement Award of the American Ceramic Society (ACerS) for the development of ceramic nanofiltration membranes for efficient water treatment 2015
